iPad Setup
Use Safari — it's the only iPad browser that supports "Add to Home Screen" as a full-screen app. Chrome and other browsers will create a bookmark instead.
Open Safari
Open Safari and navigate to your family page URL. Make sure you're on the main dashboard page — the one that shows your children's names.
Tap the share button
Tap the Share button — it looks like a square with an arrow pointing up (⬆). On newer iPads it's at the top-right of the screen; on older models it may be at the bottom.
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Scroll down in the share menu until you see "Add to Home Screen". Tap it. If you don't see this option, make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome or another browser).
Name it & tap Add
Give it a name like "Pax" or your family name, then tap Add in the top-right corner. The icon will appear on your home screen.
Launch & enjoy
Tap the new icon on your home screen. The app opens in full-screen mode — no browser bars, no tabs. It looks and feels just like a native app.

Turn on Guided Access
Open Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access and toggle it on. Tap Passcode Settings and set a passcode only you know.
Open Pax
Launch the Pax icon from your home screen.
Start the lock
Triple-click the top button (or the Home button on older iPads), then tap Start. The iPad is now locked to Pax.
To unlock later
Triple-click again and enter your passcode.
Android Tablet Setup
Use Google Chrome for the best experience. Chrome will install Pax as a PWA with full-screen support.
Open Chrome
Open Google Chrome and navigate to your family page URL.
Tap the three-dot menu
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
Look for "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" in the menu. The wording varies by Android version — both do the same thing.
Confirm & add
Name the shortcut (or keep the default) and tap Add. You may see a confirmation prompt — tap "Add to Home screen" again.
Launch from home screen
Find the new icon on your home screen or app drawer. Tap it to open Pax Family in its own full-screen window.

Turn on app pinning
Open Settings → Security (or Security & privacy → More settings) and turn on App pinning. Enable “Ask for PIN before unpinning.”
Open Pax
Launch Pax, then open the Recent apps view.
Pin it
Tap the Pax app’s icon at the top of its card and choose Pin.
To unpin later
Hold Back and Overview together (or swipe up and hold) and enter your PIN.
Chromebook Setup
Chrome on Chromebook supports installing web apps directly. The app appears in your app launcher alongside other apps.
Open Chrome
Open Chrome and navigate to your family page URL.
Look for the install icon
Look for a small install icon (⊕ or a computer with a download arrow) on the right side of the address bar. If you don't see it, click the three-dot menu (⋮) and look for "Install Pax Family…".
Click Install
A dialog will appear asking to install the app. Click Install. The app will open immediately in its own window — separate from your browser tabs.
Find it in your launcher
Pax Family now appears in your Chromebook app launcher (click the circle icon in the bottom-left). You can also pin it to your shelf — right-click the icon and choose "Pin to shelf".

Go full-screen
Press F11 (or the full-screen key — the box with arrows) to hide the toolbar and tabs.
Lock down the rest
For a stronger lock, create a separate Google account for the tablet with only Pax pinned to the shelf, or add a kiosk-browser extension from the Chrome Web Store. Chromebooks only offer a true single-app kiosk mode on managed / school devices.
Amazon Fire Tablet Setup
Fire tablets use Silk Browser by default. While Silk doesn't support full PWA mode, you can still add a home-screen shortcut for quick access.
Open Silk Browser
Open Silk Browser (the orange globe icon) and navigate to your family page URL.
Tap the menu
Tap the menu icon — usually three horizontal lines (☰) or three dots (⋮) depending on your Fire tablet model.
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Find and tap "Add to Home Screen" in the menu. If you don't see it, try tapping "Add Bookmark" first, then long-press the bookmark and choose "Add shortcut to Home".
Confirm & add
Confirm the name and tap Add. The shortcut will appear on your Fire tablet's home screen.

Tap the shortcut to open Pax Family. Note: on Fire tablets, the app opens inside Silk Browser (not full-screen), but it's still a fast one-tap launch.

Use a kiosk browser
Fire tablets can’t lock to one app on their own. Install a free kiosk browser (like Fully Kiosk Browser from the Amazon Appstore) and point it at your Pax URL.
Or use a Kids profile
Set up an Amazon Kids profile to limit what else the tablet can reach.
Windows Setup
Both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome support installing web apps on Windows. Edge is recommended since it's built into Windows.
Open Edge or Chrome
Open Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and navigate to your family page URL.
Look for the install option
In Edge: Look for an install icon in the address bar, or click the three-dot menu (…) → "Apps" → "Install this site as an app".
In Chrome: Look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar, or click the three-dot menu (⋮) → "Save and share" → "Install Pax Family…".
Click Install
Click Install in the dialog that appears. The app will immediately open in its own window — separate from your browser.
Pin to start or taskbar
The app appears in your Start menu. For even quicker access, right-click and choose "Pin to taskbar". You can also find it by searching "Pax Family" in the Start menu.

Open kiosk setup
Go to Settings → Accounts → Other users → Set up a kiosk (Assigned access).
Point it at Pax
Create or choose an account, pick Microsoft Edge as the kiosk app, and enter your Pax URL.
Sign in
Signing into that account boots straight into Pax, full-screen and locked. Quick alternative: press F11 in Edge or Chrome for full-screen.
